Fibromyalgia, American College of Rheumatology

In a study of twenty patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia conducted by Jo Anne Whitaker, M.D., at the American College of Rheumatology, almost all participants experienced various degrees of relief which lasted from a few days to several weeks. Most reported immediate relief following a Bowen treatment. For some, repeated Bowen therapy maintained complete clinical remission. The results were statistically significant and correlated with improvement of clinical well-being.  At Fair Oaks Bowen Therapy we’ve worked with a lot of people suffering from this condition.  Please see our “testimonials” tab on our website:  www.fairoaksbowen.com

Q. I have been told that you do not need to disrobe for a Bowen therapy treatment. Is this true?

Yes this is correct, Bowen may be done through clothing. However you may be asked to remove bulky items such as thick jumpers or thick jeans that restrict a fluid movement being performed. Ideally clothing should be light and loose with only one layer to work through.  At Fair Oaks Bowen Therapy we can provide baggy, light trousers should you forget to bring a change of clothing.
